Noida is one of the first master planned cities in NCR with state-of-the-art infrastructure. With Noida Authority planning to bring various infrastructure projects to shape, the city is surely on its way to come at par with international cities.
On Wednesday The Noida Authority said that construction on the new underpass proposed between Sector 96 and 128, along the Noida Expressway would begin in March 2015.
The authority has approved the design of the new underpass, which will be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 40 to 50 Crore. The chief project engineer of Noida Authority, Yadav Singh said “After approving the design, we conducted a physical inspection of the project site two days back. Now, we will send the project estimate to IIT-Delhi for approval. Once that is approved, we will select a private agency. Construction will start in March 2015. The work is likely to be completed in the next two-three years.”
- The underpass will come up near the authority’s new office in Sector 96.
- The construction would be done through push back technology, so that commuters using the Noida expressway do not face any inconvenience.
- Commuters travelling here daily would be benefitted as this would reduce the congestion on the expressway during peak hours.
- According to a further survey conducted by the Noida Authority, five new underpasses should be built on the Noida Expressway to reduce traffic on this high-speed link, connecting Noida & Greater Noida.
