The much-awaited project – aimed at curbing incidents of crime and illegal parking in the market complex where the average footfall is 50,000 daily – was launched by Noida Authority chairman and CEO Rama Raman recently.
- Noida’s upscale Sector 18 market is now under CCTV surveillance.
- Noida Authority chairman and CEO, Rama Raman said that Sector 18 is one of the key commercial hubs in India. “Keeping its importance in mind, there is a need to offer full proof security to the market. High-definition CCTV cameras and loudspeakers will not only ensure the safety of people visiting the market, but also help in traffic management in the area,” he said.
- Describing the surveillance project as a classic example of the infrastructure that Noida boasts of, Raman said the Integrated Security Surveillance System (iS3) project would also be completed soon and it will be linked to the Sector 19 project. The iS3 project will cost around Rs. 100 Crore.
- “High-definition, CCTV cameras will be installed across the city as part of measures to strengthen security and check incidents of crime. We hope with the hi-tech technology, crime graph especially snatching will go down as it will help reduce police response time. Once implemented, Noida will be the first township in UP to have the hi-tech surveillance system,” Raman said.
