To boost connectivity in the state, Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat and UP’s Irrigation Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav on Tuesday announced that a first-of-its kind joint Metro line project, connecting Muradnagar in Ghaziabad district with Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
- This project will be launched soon.
- Both minsters launched the west UP-Uttarakhand Metro rail line project as a “most significant one in view of the 2018 National Games set to be held at Uttarakhand’s Dehradun and Haldwani national stadiums.”
- Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat said, “If it is completed before the commencement of the National Games in Uttarakhand, it will help sports lovers and tourists from west UP and Delhi to cut down their travel time to Haridwar”.
- This Metro track will be of 150 km. & will run through Kawar Yatra route.
