The officials of Noida Authority came up with some slew of changes in order to maintain transparency and timely completion of work. The first step is ‘Selfie with the cleaned-out garbage vans’.
As part of the initiative, sanitation workers click the selfie after cleaning the garbage and upload the pictures on the mobile application, Noida Citizen Charter, which is accessed by the authority officials to keep a tab on the work done.
Rajesh Prakash, additional CEO of Noida Authority said, “We are moving towards paperless monitoring now. The app which is launched to address grievances of Noida residents will also be used by us to monitor the activities of sanitation workers. Not only the Selfie would maintain transparency in work but will also work as an attendance of the workers.”
“According to the new directions, two project engineers, nine sanitation inspectors and twelve cleaning supervisors will monitor whether the sweepers and other staff have collected the garbage in the stipulated time schedules,” explains Prakash.
Keeping in mind the problems faced by health department while collecting the municipal waste, the authority has proposed to shift their working hours. They would now be able to collect municipal waste in two shifts, which was earlier happening the peak traffic hours.
