Shrey Kadian is in the spotlight these days, not only at the national level, but also at Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan, his school, his second home. Shrey was the Vice Captain of the Softball team of India that won Gold medal at the recently held Special Olympics world games in Los Angeles, 2015.
Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal met Shrey Kadian and other winners of Special Olympic Games 2015 at the Delhi Secretariat. Shrey was awarded price money of Rs. 10 lakhs as a token of appreciation and encouragement from the Delhi Government.
Shrey first came to Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan in 2002. Overcoming his disability of being mentally challenged, he represented his school in cricket and in softball at different competitions. He has also won bronze medal in softball competition at the national level. These Olympics were not Shrey’s first appearance in the international arena. He has also represented India in cricket at the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Regional Games 2013-14 in Australia and even won silver medal.
The 1995-born Shrey is very enthusiastic student and a wonderful dancer.
